What Is Cancer?

Cancer is the name given to a collection of related diseases at a cellular level. In all types of cancer, some of the body’s cells begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding tissues.
Typical Normal Cell Activity
Normally, human cells grow and divide to form new cells as the body needs them. When cells grow old or become damaged, they die, and new cells take their place. Normal cell regeneration occurs countless times throughout your life.
Typical Abnormal Cell Activity
When cancer develops, however, this orderly process breaks down. A cells becomes abnormal. When typically, an old or damaged should die, these cells survive and divide to form other abnormal cells when they are not needed. These extra, abnormal, cells can divide without stopping and eventually form growths which we know tumors.
What causes Cancer?
There are two causes of genetic mutations:
1. Gene mutations you're born with or inherited. This type of mutation is known to account for only a small percentage of cancers.
And by the way, if you've inherited a genetic mutation that predisposes you to cancer, that doesn't mean you're certain to get cancer. Instead, you may need a combination of one or more other gene mutations to cause cancer. Now, because you have an inherited gene mutation, this can and most likely will make you more likely than other people to develop cancer when exposed to a certain cancer-causing substance.
2. Gene mutations that occur after birth. This type of mutation occurs after you are born and are due to foreign exposure.
Foreign Exposure Examples:
Smoking, radiation, viruses, cancer causing chemicals (known as carcinogens), obesity, lack of exercise, hormonal imbalances, alcohol
Tips to prevent Cancer
1. Eat a healthy diet primarily consisting of plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and nuts
2. Avoid obesity
3. Avoid alcohol
4. Avoid processed meats
5. Be physically active
6. Protect yourself from the sun

As you can see from the information I just shared with you, your chances of getting Cancer naturally are mainly through genetic disposition. This goes to tell you that the tremendous Cancer rate we are experiencing in this country are primarily unnatural and originating from poor diet and other external factors. We cannot accept and allow this trend to continue. It is our responsibility to educate ourselves on eating right, staying healthy, and what is good and bad for us. If each one of use consciously decide in making positive changes in our everyday habits, collectively with time, we will send a clear message to the FDA and the manufactures of the crap we call food, that we deserve and expect better quality nutrition and by being healthier, we will empty out the pockets of the big pharmaceutical companies who are creating a sick factory of us.
